Current Opportunities
In this role, you’ll lead the charge in upholding safety protocols and swiftly resolving any issues that arise! With a keen eye for maintaining efficient workflow and exceptional communication skills, you’ll work closely with trades and project managers to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
- Effectively plan and maintain the project schedule to achieve milestones and ensure that the work performed is consistent with the drawings, specifications, and contract.
- Management, scheduling, and supervision of on-site crew, sub trades ensuring work is performed efficiently and to a high quality standard.
- Oversee/Coordinate the delivery to site of all materials and equipment in a timely manner and as required by the project schedule.
- Work with the Project Manager to identify and resolve issues and revisions in a timely manner, to help facilitate the most cost effective and schedule neutral solution.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized job site.
- Control site management, project quality, and costs by enforcing the highest level of construction quality and workmanship with a “measure twice, cut once” approach.
- Maintain a daily log of activities, create and submit Daily Reports, Lookaheads, progress pictures, and checklists.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with the team, vendors, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
- Mentor the up-and-coming generation of the Upward field team assigned to the project.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of construction experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Red Seal Certification
- Ability to read and interpret building specifications and drawings.
- Excellent understanding of all things construction with the ability to foresee and mitigate issues before they occur.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Solid understanding of sequence of construction activities and ability to ensure that site is ready for next trade (e.g. is all the backing up before drywallers start).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, time-management skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and project management programs such as Excel, Outlook and Buildertrend.
- Positive attitude with a strong ability to lead in high pressure situations.
- Have a ‘safety-first’ approach with a thorough understanding of health and safety requirements and regulations.
- Valid driver’s license.

Are you a Project Manager looking to join a close-knit team and work on exciting residential projects in North Vancouver? If you have a passion for construction and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
- Multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time – you are three steps ahead of the Site Supervisor.
- Prepare and maintain scopes, schedules, budgets, follow-up on cost and suppliers to secure financial transparency, drive tendering and contracting for your projects and coordinate design, execution and logistics for your projects.
- Prepare permit packages and submissions.
- Negotiate bids and optimize project planning through the management of subcontractor scopes of work, costs and contracts.
- Analyzing and managing specifications, drawings, contracts and documents and anticipating potential revisions.
- Identify lead times for materials, perform material take-offs, create estimates and ensure accurate and on time procurement.
- Manage and create change orders.
- Follow up on the construction process through regular site visits & secure that the right materials and solutions are used.
- Communicate project details, and work cohesively with subcontractors, architects, and other project stakeholders, which includes participating actively in meetings as required.
- Proactively respond to the needs of homeowners and building trust through transparency and communication.
- Manage the execution of project scopes to ensure quality control, cost-effectiveness, and ensure that goals or objectives of the projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame.
- Utilize Buildertrend platform to review and provide updates.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience as Construction Project Manager with an in-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles. Has the proven ability to deliver on time and on budget.
- Understanding of BC Building Code and latest energy code, LEED and relevant regulatory requirements in Vancouver, and North Shore municipalities.
- Effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented and professional.
- Recognized analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A team-oriented approach with positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- The ability to negotiate and build positive relationships while being budget minded.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Including: Excel, Office, and Outlook).
- Experience with AutoCAD or a similar design program is an asset.
- Experience with BuilderTrend is a plus.

In this role, you will be on the tools, you’ll lead the charge in upholding safety protocols and swiftly resolving any issues that arise! With a keen eye for maintaining efficient workflow and exceptional communication skills, you’ll work closely with the Site Supervisors to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
- Complete tasks to the quality standard set out by the Site Supervisor and leadership team, and within the timeframe of the schedule.
- Interpret architectural, structural and mechanical construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents etc.
- Preforming all carpentry labour on the job from concept to completion, including: Demolition, framing, insulating and installing vapour barrier, basic trim, floor and roof assemblies, cutting/shaping, materials to specified measurements, assembling and fastening materials etc.
- Work within cohesive, efficient and highly capable onsite construction crews to identify and manage opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible results for project scope, quality, safety and schedule targets.
- Safely operate power tools, care, and maintenance for tools as required.
- Establish and maintain clean, organized, safe and professional presentation of work sites.
- Utilize Buildertrend platform to manage projects, communicate with team, enter time allocations, upload photos, and fill out daily logs.
What You’ll Bring
- Rough and finish carpentry skills, and outstanding knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
- Red Seal certification in Carpentry is a plus.
- Basic hand and power tools.
- Positive ‘Can do’ attitude
- Ability to take directions
- Physically able to lift heavy tools and materials
- Understanding of basic building science and “House as a System”. Solid knowledge of construction sequencing and construction assemblies and a thorough understanding of construction methods and techniques associated with all trades and suppliers.
- Experience with energy efficient building technology, techniques and their applications such as Built Green or Passive House is an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License
